Early Pregancy Ultrasound 10-16
This examination is performed during this time to confirm that the pregnancy is viable (developing) and that there is a heart beat and to confirm that your dates are correct. We do this ultrasound at this time, because if it is any earlier there is the possibility that you may have to do an internal examination to see the baby clearer. We prefer to not do the internal examinaitons at our clinic, therefore choosing to see expecting mothers at approximately 10 weeks onwards. When we assess all is fine with the developing fetus, we explain all we can and take some images and burn them onto a CD, as well as take some black and white pictures for you to take with you.
